Queen was part of Ace's own Royal Flush Gang.
History[]
Queen was granted powers by Ace, who had hoped she could form a new family. However, they abandoned her in favor of a life of crime. Queen battled the Justice League and was defeated by Doctor Light. But when Ace's death stripped Queen's powers, he reverted to his normal form — that of a middle-aged man.
Powers and abilities[]
Queen gained enhanced strength as a result of Ace's reality-warping.
Background information[]
- His design was clearly based upon the Queen of Hearts from Disney's Alice in Wonderland.
- Just like his teammates, Queen's conception bears a specific in-joke: Upon reverting to his normal form, he is revealed to be a man, thus a "drag queen". Justice League Unlimited producer Dwayne McDuffie claimed that this Royal Flush Gang's Queen was conceived during the brainstorm session for "Epilogue", but didn't recall who specifically came up with the concept.[1]
- In costume and in his normal form, he bears a striking resemblance to the famous drag queen Divine, birth name Harris Glenn Milstead, the star of many John Waters movies. Divine was best known for the 1988 film Hairspray, playing a dual role in drag as Mrs. Turnblad and out-of-drag as Arvin Hodgepile.
