Zacharus was a zoologist at Gotham State University.
History[]
Fulton and Zacharus were conducting an intelligence experiment for the University. Sadly, their test subject—a gorilla Fulton's kids named "Fingers" did not meet the expectations. With the threat of losing their grant looming, Fulton suggested that they spliced the gorilla with enhanced human DNA. The gorilla went berserk immediately, and escaped. Though Fulton and Zacharus went after the gorilla, they could not retrieve him. Batman chased the gorilla, and ordered the two doctors to alert the police. Now that the police were aware of their involvement, Zacharus suggested cleaning their case. They went back to their labs to destroy incriminating evidence, but Batman had already found it.
