Wow! Hard to believe it's been two full decades since one of the best animated shows of all time was released (and, of course, when the DCAU all started). I think some commemorating is in order.
Aside from the slick animation and near-perfect voice cast, the show was unlike anything we've ever seen. Stories involving drugs, pain, suffering and even death. Not very common for a childrens' cartoon.
It all comes down to one thing: Maturity. That's why B:TAS is so profound and abstract (I'm thinking "Heart of Ice" and "I Am the Night" right now). It really took animated shows to the next level. Oh, how I miss the 90s...Read more >
